So I guess it's finally summertime in the city
I always thought the sunshine in your hair was so pretty
they say the grass is greener
when you're looking from the outside in
but theres not much here in this lonely city
and the greenest thing I see is the brightness of your eyes
shining in my dreams late at night
What’s a boy to do?
And what’s it gonna take
To get over you?
What’s a boy to do?
Two decades haven’t given all they should
And there’s nothing left for me to take
Such a long time to be gone in the blink of an eye
And I can’t breathe,
I’m trapped under the weight of a heavy sigh
I can’t help but wonder where I’ve gone
What’s a boy to do?
And what’s it gonna take
To get over you?
What’s a boy to do?
The crowded empty streets
a conduit to the pathways of my mind
seem to be going everywhere
but I guess I'm going nowhere
and the red lights seem to haunt my history
and the red lights are all around me
What’s a boy to do?
And what’s it gonna take
To get over you?
What’s a boy to do?
Its gonna take time for these dirty wounds
And given just one more chance
I really wonder what I would choose
Someday I’ll be back
But for now
I’ve got these demons still to loose
What’s a boy to do?
And what’s it gonna take
To get over you?
What’s a boy to do?
What’s a boy to do?
And what’s it gonna take
To get over you?
What’s a boy to do?
What's a boy to do?

matt, as always, very artfully and powerfully arranged and written. if you don't get these somewhere where they will be heard soon, i'm gonna take matters into my own hand. i fully expect to hear some of these on the radio someday. i am curious, is this still just a wonderful piece you've written, or is this written about someone in your life?
It was written right after a girl broke up with me.
whats going on with you? haven't heard from you in a while
