Deepest plea

Near to you
That’s where I long to be
And dear to me
Those words were never so true
Near to you
its my deepest plea

Train whistles
I hear the conductors call
Bags are packed
And you’re leaving till the fall
Won’t be back till colors fill the trees
And the dew begins to freeze

Near to you
That’s where I long to be
And dear to me
Those words were never so true
Near to you
its my deepest plea

I feel your hand slip from mine
We both smile
And say we’ll be fine
But inside I think the sorrow
Won’t be gone for quite awhile
And I just hope we can survive this trial

Near to you
That’s where I long to be
And dear to me
Those words were never so true
Near to you
its my deepest plea

Near to you
That’s where I long to be
And dear to me
Those words were never so true
Near to you
its my deepest plea
